As conference chairman, and on behalf of the conference scientific committee, I am delighted to invite you to the first Pharma – Nutrition 2011 conference totally dedicated to the unique and challenging interface between nutrition and pharma, to be held in Amsterdam, in April 2011.

Whilst most of you will recognise Hippocrates’ words, “let medicine be thy food and food be thy medicine”, it seems in practice that the disciplines of pharma and nutrition in recent times have evolved separately. Now, with the ever growing burden of diseases in modern society, we are once again seeing a convergence of the two in relation to specific disease treatment. This re-discovered common ground between complementary values of pharma and nutrition can be conceptualised in the term pharma- nutrition and it is the reason for our dedicated conference.

At PharmaNutrition 2011, the conference committee has put together a truly multidisciplinary program that addresses the cutting edge research issues in nutrition and pharma life sciences. A series of state-of-the-art plenary lecture, by internationally renowned scientists, will be accompanied by sessions focused on specific key diseases areas. This conference will be the first and foremost platform to share and discuss your own research with key opinion leaders across nutrition and pharma.
